5 WAYS TO START BECOMING WHO YOU WANT

December 13, 2017

Lately I've been spending so much time blogging that I've been missing out on some of the wonderful things around me.  Which is pretty pathetic, since one of my main goals for this blog is to inspire girls to not miss out on life-to live to their fullest.  And yet, I've been doing the exact opposite.

There's a quote I once read, that went something like this:

"Start living like you're already the person you want to become."

When I read it, it was just like BAM.  In my face.  I always think about my future self.  Consistent with exercise, a harder worker, highly creative, more carefree, loving, humble, confident.  All the things I want to be, but am not.  Yet.
The quote isn't telling us to wait until we're already good at those things.  Because that's not how you get better.  You have to start now, where you are.  In your current state.  Act like you are that person who has it all together, the person who you admire and want to be like.  Don't waste your life waiting for the future

I've decided to make a list of 5 ways to start becoming who you want to be.

 1.  Write Down Your Goals
I cannot stress this enough.  If I don't write down where I want to be or what I want to achieve, it seems slightly pointless.  I LOVE checking off tasks at the end of the day, and am not above writing down things after the day is over, just so I can cross it off.
2. Make Them Achievable
Say one of your goals was Improve Flexibility.  Well, what do you need to do, to become more flexible?  Start with 5 minutes of stretching, add 5 more, and so on.  After a while stretching will become second nature to you.

 3. Establish Routine
Much like the former, you mudt establish a routine to work on those goals.  If you exercise for 10 minutes on Tuesday, but don't do it again until the end of the month, it's not going to do much good.  I've found that writing out a daily schedule can help.  One problem I've had with schedules is that I feel restricted.  That's why I write down very loose ones.  Mostly just a list of each thing I need to accomplish, and in the basic order of how I'll do so.
4. Don't Pressure Yourself
If you sleep late, whatever.  You probably needed it after that late night.  Just don't let it slow you down.  If you don't do everything you wanted today, it'll be fine.  Obviously don't be lazy, but it's okay to not get everything done on your to-do list.

5.  Don't Give Up
I've given up on a lot of things.  For the last 4 years I've told myself this would be the year I finally got the splits.  After January I usually stopped stretching.  But guess what?  This summer I nailed all three splits down.  Sure, I gave up on it quite a few times, but in the end, I got them and that's what matters. *

*Let's not mention the fact I totally gave up on stretching this fall.

My message for you, is to be who you want.  Don't wait to be older, don't wait for the new year, don't wait.  Be who you want today.

Are you going to start living for today?  Do you ever give up on a goal, and then come back to it later?  Have you ever been hit hard by a quote?  Random question, should I cut my hair?  Comment below, and chat with me!

  1. Oh my gosh, I needed to read this! I've been thinking lately about my goals for the upcoming 2018 (it's coming so fast!), and I'm just realizing how much I dream about my future achievements without actually putting them into action. It's really sad if you think about it! For example, I really want to start getting into more strength training instead of ALWAYS DOING CARDIO. But I keep telling myself I'll wait until the New Year to get back into a good workout routine, because WHY WORKOUT WHEN YOU'VE TOTALLY GIVEN UP ON HEALTHY EATING OVER CHRISTMAS (Well, not completely....)???? That's a totally wrong way to look at it, but I've found myself doing it, even so.

Anyway, I'm totally rambling and idek if this is really what I wanted to say XD

IN OTHER WORDS, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WRITING THIS. YOU HAVE INSPIRED ME. BE PROUD. ;)

  2. Next, you should do a bullet journal post, so we can have something pretty to write these lists in! (Okay, I'm a big BuJu fan...even though my artistic ability is like, non existent.) But I do love lists!

Are you about to leave me a comment? Wow! Thank you so much. Comments literally make my day. To be honest, hearing from other girls is the main reason I blog.
