HELLO MARCH! I'M GOING TO A BALL, TURNED 15 AND AM SHARING A FEW SECRETS

by - March 03, 2018

February was amazing.  It was truly one of the best months of my life.  Maybe I say that every month, but life gets better and better, you know?  We are now officially 1/6th of the way through 2018.  Crazy.
This year I am attempting to make the most out of every moment.  To see the beauty in everything.  In my little sister's morning yawns and my older sister's midnight yawns.  To seek the poetic beauty in the way my fingers sound typing these keys and to STOP RUSHING.  I've never been a particularly patient person, which often makes me frustrated with life.  Just ask my family and they'll tell you how quickly I move from one thing to another, both literally and metaphorically.

I hope to highlight not only the events or achievements of last month, but also the little moments that made me smile.  Because what's more of an achievement than living life to the fullest?
February Highlights

- I got contacts!  I adore them so much.  The first day I wore them I had one inside out, which hurt terribly.  I thought I'd never get over the pain until I turned it the right way and couldn't even feel them anymore.  *face-palm*  Ever since taking them in and out has become easier and easier.  My sister's fiance, Alex, gets freaked out by the concept of touching eyes, so obviously I've been taking advantage of that weak point.  Obviously.

- I read 6 and a half books.  I'm not really on schedule for 50 books this year, but I'm on my way!

-  When I woke up my little sister the other morning she rolled over and said, "You're my favorite person to wake me up, because you don't sing like Mommy does, you just give me kisses until I wake up."  I think my heart might have melted.
- THE OLYMPICS HAPPENED.  Maybe you aren't someone who's very passionate about them, but my family always has been.  I watched them all but one night, since I was at a dance practice.

- Tonight I am going to a regency ball!  I have a beautiful, blue gown, false eyelashes and my nails are sparkly.  I truly feel like a princess.  The best part is the dancing, though.  I went to 3 practices beforehand, to learn the dances and also get to know everyone.  Wish me luck and pray I don't sprain my ankle or something.

Oh, I also turned 15 on February 3rd.  My family gave me the best day I could've asked for.  And no, being 15 doesn't feel any different than 14.

-  I had my hair cut 4-ish inches.  It looks amazing.  It's still very long, but much easier to handle.

- I won a Kate's giveaway!  I cannot wait to start reading her amazing book.  If you haven't heard about her, her blog or book, then follow this link to give her some love.
Blogging

Blogging this month was  a complete whirlwind.  I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I decided to do an entire month of collabs.  I loved each one, but I'm looking forward to an easier posting schedule.

- You may have noticed me changing the header and graphics a bit.  But I think I'm finally done!  I did a survey and decided to take some of your advice to heart.

- Okay, this should be a secret, but I'm super excited.  I'm hoping to do a giveaway very soon since I reached 100 followers!  But you didn't hear - er, read that.  You know nothing.

- I was considering taking a long hiatus, but decided against it.  For a while I was running out of ideas, but a few days ago I suddenly became far more interested in blogging again.

You can read my 3 favorite collabs by clicking on the photos below.

What did you do this month?  Have you ever been to a ball?  When's your birthday?  Does your family watch the Olympics?  Tell me all of the things!

I actually got out of “a ball” because we’re doing one at the end of our play, and my character has an older and younger self, so luckily for me, my older self is doing the dancing, haha!

  11. It looks like you had a great birthday! I'm turning 16 years old April 12, 2018 and I'm very excited! I want to get contacts this year (I have glasses right now), is it really hard and scary putting it in your eyes at first? I can't wait to wear sunglasses. :D I liked this post!

    1. I did! Oooh, sweet sixteen! <3 It's hard to put them in, since you're eyes aren't used to it, but it doesn't hurt. At first it would take me 10-15 minutes to get one contact in my eye, but now it only takes a few seconds. Some days my eyes still water like crazy, though, and then they're hard to get in. SAME! That was one of the best parts.

  13. Ella, I'm so happy for how your February went! Happy Belated Birthday!! And yes, I watched the Olympics too! I especially enjoyed the figure skating and snowboarding. You?? I've never been to a ball. Don't think such things happen where I live haha. My birthday is rather late in the year, in November!! :o

  14. February felt like a great blogging month for me too. I loved, loved that you took the entire month to do collabs (although I'm sure it was a LOT of work).

It's been a long while since I have watched the Olympics, actually.

Happiest of birthday wishes to ya!

  16. You're so brave being able to pull off wearing contacts!!! They terrify me so much. I partially blame Finally, one of my favorite childhood books by Wendy Mass because one of the characters has a massive allergic reaction so her eye get all swollen. And what giveaway? xD

    1. OH MY GOSH. That sounds like something that would scare me. I'm SURE you won't have any problem with an allergic reaction. They aren't even very hard to deal with now that I've gotten used to it.
