HELLO NOVEMBER! HIKING, PHOTOS AND WOW, LIFE IS AMAZING

by - November 01, 2017

October was truly one of the best months of my life.  I always love it, but especially this year.  Unusually, this fall hasn't been crazy busy, which makes it stranger that I enjoyed it so much, since I'm happiest when I have many social activities going on.  I think I'm learning to be happy with or without friends and make the most out of normal days-something I've really been working on this year.

High Moments

I HAVE MY OWN LAPTOP!  This has been extremely helpful.  At first I was doing school, blogging and writing on my Mom's.  And she works from home, using her laptop, so it was really a pain.  But no more of those struggles now!  I've got my own.

The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta was so much fun.  When we went in the morning it was so pretty.  Being a homeschooler I don't have to get up at dawn, so it was nice to see the sunrise.  I took a few pictures I'm fairly happy with.  Then we went in the evening too.  Even though it was too windy for the balloons to go up, we met some extremely nice people.  Like these guys from Spain.  It's amazing for people all over the world to be in one place.

I got new glasses frames and they're fabulous!  I've had glasses since July of last year, but I hate the old frames.  And my vision isn't very bad, so I hardly ever even wear them anyway.  The optometrist said I don't even need to wear them any more than I already do, so that's very good news for me!  I'll show you guys pictures of my new ones soon!

Do you ever just lay in bed, awake thinking of all the wonderful things that have happened and all the wonderful people you've met?  And you just feel all twinkly and fuzzy and you have to curl up and hug yourself otherwise the happiness will pour out.  Because it's the best feeling I know and everyone deserves to feel that way sometimes.

My Mom and I had a really special afternoon down by the Rio Grande, taking pictures and generally having a good time.

We've gone on so many nightly walks.  It's super cozy when it's dark out and all we can see are the city light spreading out before us, like little twinkling stars.

I was given a gift card to Amazon that I'm required to spend on "something fun".  I can't decide!  Maybe I'll get a book.  Comment below and tell me your favorite book, I need help deciding!

We carved the best pumpkins ever.  We used a template thing, which made it easier.  But seriously, bask in the glory of those things, and excuse the fact my bat doesn't have eyes.

On Saturday my Mom, Aunt and I went hiking in the Sandia Mountains.  It was beautiful.  Afterward our Aunt treated us to pizza and bought my older sister (Sarah) and I cookies.  Neither Sarah or I have had a whole cookie to ourselves from this place, because they're so large, so it was a very special occasion.  :P

Sarah wants me to start college as an incoming freshman when I'm sixteen.  She also thinks I should hurry up and take my ACT too.  I don't even know what in the world I'm going to major in!  I'm considering architecture with a sub degree (is that even what it's called?) in interior design.  But I also want to be an actress and a beautician and a graphic designer and a teacher and author and artist and can I please just be everything?

Halloween was great.  We stayed home, ate candy and watched Pirates of the Caribbean.

Blogging

I launched my blog!  A million thanks to everyone who helped with it.  I'm so glad to have gotten to know you better and I hope we can become ever greater friends in the future.

I did my first post on empowerment.  You can read it by clicking on the image.

  1. Super ready for November!! (Bring it on, NaNo!) I actually was part of a bluegrass band with some girls who lived in Spain for a few years. I would love to be a world traveler, but I don't think that'll ever happen...

  2. My favourite month is August because birthdays. I have a computer for school. How come so many teen bloggers are homeschooled? Like, I'm in the minority here ;(. I have glasses too! But I really need them and I wear them all the time. My favourite book ... hmm. If you like romance YA novels check out If There's No Tomorrow. I really like it so that's a recommendation xP. As for studying, I think being an interior designer sounds awesome. And as you can always be an author on the side (unless you want it as a full time job) then you can do something else. But what do you want to be the most? And are you doing NaNoWriMo? But I think eating pizza your entire life sounds way better xP

    1. Ahh, makes sense. Haha, I think it's probably because some parents will count it as part of English. Cool! Sounds good, I'll have to look into it. Ugh, I don't know what I want to do. I COULD so many things, I still have a while before I have to decide though. I've actually never done it before, although I want to someday. Yeah, maybe I could be an ice cream tester or something. ;P

  3. Your blog is GORGEOUS, Ella! I love the picture of you on your sidebar. :) This was a wonderful post that I really enjoyed! Alright, now to answer all the questions you asked at the end...
My favorite month is probably July, because it's when Independence Day is, it's the middle of summer, and we go swimming pretty much all month long. :) My favorite season as probably Spring.
Yep, I do have my own laptop! I got it a few months ago and I love it. No, I have never met anyone from Spain. XD
I've never been to a balloon fiesta - but I LOVE the photo you got! It's amazing!
Nope, I don't wear glasses. As for what book you should spend your gift card on... I recommend "The Book Thief", "Carry On, Mr. Bowditch", "Counting by Sevens", "The Giver", or "Every Soul a Star". :D
I'm the exact same way about college - "But I also want to be an actress and a beautician and a graphic designer and a teacher and author and artist and can I please just be everything?" That is basically me. XD
Ooh, spending the rest of your days eating pizza sounds like a great plan.;) And to answer your final question, YES! I AM EXCITED FOR NOVEMBER! I'm doing NaNo for the first time and it's gonna be awesome. :)

Oooh, I love swimming too! Someday, the much talked about blogger party will happen and I can bring you to the balloon fiesta with me. Maybe I should get Counting by Sevens, I've had someone else recommend it to me as well. What's Every Soul a Star about? It sounds amazing!
Ha, I wish I could do everything! What do you think you might major in?

I read about it in your blog post, good luck!!! <3 <3 <3

    3. You're welcome! <3
Ooh yes, the blogger party. That must happen sometime! ;)
You should get Counting by Sevens - it's so good! Every Soul a Star is about a girl who lives on a resort/park where people come to see solar eclipses. It's amazing!
Hmm, I'm not sure, but I would love to do something related to graphic design, photography, or music. :D
      Thank you so much!!

  5. Incoming freshman at 16?? That's a little...early, I'll be honest. Take a little time to decide what you want to do, Don't rush!!!

That being said, I loved this post, Ella! It's so cool to see what other bloggers have been up to!

    1. Yeah, I'd be able to graduate very early if I did, so that's the main reason I'm considering it. It's also nice because I wouldn't be living away from home, since the college is around 30 minutes away. But thanks for the support! <3 <3 <3

Thank you, Catherine! Yes, I agree!

  6. Awesome post! Also I can so relate to having no idea what you want to do. Whenever someone asks me what I want to do with my life I get annoyed BECAUSE I HAVE NO IDEA. Like there are too many options! :)

  8. That balloon photo is so good - the balloon fiesta must've been amazing! I also appreciated your previous post - breaking molds and changing the world right where we are by being who God wants us to be is something I'm pretty passionate about too. Thank you! And all the best with your November goals! :)
